Barry Round Table
What is Barry Round Table?
Barry Round Table is a community based group for young men aged 18 – 45. It is part of the international association of Round Tables. We meet twice a month, and you can attend what activities you are interested in. We also have an active social calendar which includes brewery tours, escape rooms, snooker, butchery skills and foot golf – usually wash down with a beer and a curry.
What does Barry Round Table do for the community?
We organise and support a lot of the large community events that take place in the Barry area including the Barry’s Santa Sleigh Tour. Through these events we are able to raise funding which we then use to invest in local projects, charities and good causes around the Barry area.
We also get involved with other community causes and projects as they arise.
In 2015 / 2016 charities and good causes we have supported include Colcot ABC, Barry Boys Comprehensive School, Central Bowls Club, Noah’s Ark Appeal, Action for Children, Ty Iolo, Barry Town United Academy, Holton Road murals, Children in Need, Round Table Children’s Wish and Dad’s First Aid training.
What first attracts men to join Round Table?
This varies from person to person but includes those moving to the area looking to meet new people, supporting their own community, trying new activities, developing skills, having a laugh with other young like minded men and time to relax away from the stresses of daily life.
Who can join Round Table?
We are an open organisation for men aged 18 – 45 who would like to get involved and do more in the Barry area supporting their community and making new mates. We are part of a family of clubs including Ladies Circle who support women with the same values and ethos as Round Table. We work closely with Ladies Circle on a variety of projects and events.
You might think this all takes up a lot of your time – the answer is NO. We meet just twice a month and you can the activities and events that interest you. We also have groups and partners that support us to #DoMore enabling us to support #OurCommunity more.
